Welcome to Calon Glass & Murano Passion where exquisite handmade glass jewellery hails from both the UK and the renowned Island of Murano in Venice, Italy.
From my studio nestled in South Wales, UK, I craft unique jewellery using art glass and dichroic glass to achieve amazing effects. The creation of pendants, earrings, and various other glass items involves a meticulous process of layering glass and fusing it in a kiln. Often, this process is repeated multiple times to infuse the final piece with depth and harmony. This process is often repeated to create depth and balance in the finished piece.
Fusing is an intricate process that involves layering sheet glass, lustrous dichroic glass, and various other glass elements like frit (small glass chips) and glass powders, which are then heated in a kiln. When the temperature reaches approximately 800°C, these layers meld seamlessly into a single, cohesive piece.

Working with glass is a thrilling experience, and even after many years of fusing, I still feel a rush of excitement when I open the kiln to reveal the shimmering glass cabochons, ready to be transformed into stunning jewellery. The firing process ensures that each piece is one-of-a-kind, never to be replicated. I meticulously photograph each finished creation, so the unique item you see is exactly what you will receive.
